Craft beer has always been about independence, experimentation and quality. Choosing alcohol-free shouldn’t mean settling for something bland, corporate, or joyless. DryDrop is about choosing something better.
Where it started
DryDrop was founded in York by John, a long-time home brewer and craft beer enthusiast.
I started home brewing back in 2008, which quickly turned into a fascination with microbreweries and the emerging UK craft beer scene. That curiosity led to years of discovering new styles, new brewers, and what happens when people genuinely care about flavour and process.
Like many people, I also remember trying early alcohol-free beers years ago — the kind that promised a lot and delivered very little. Thin, sweet, lifeless. They felt like a compromise in every sense.
The turning point
A few years ago, I stopped drinking alcohol altogether. Not out of obligation, but out of choice — to get more out of life, be present for my young family, and support my health, fitness and sports performance.
What surprised me most was how much the alcohol-free craft beer world had changed.
Some attempts were still rough. Others missed the mark entirely. But mixed in were genuinely excellent beers — complex, balanced, and thoughtfully made by proper craft brewers applying the same care they give their full-strength beers.
Finding them took time, trial and plenty of disappointment.
Why DryDrop exists
DryDrop was created to cut through the noise.
We curate discovery boxes of alcohol-free and low-alcohol craft beers from independent breweries that put flavour first. No fillers. No gimmicks. No compromises.
Every beer is selected because it stands up on its own — not because it’s trendy, loud, or widely distributed. The aim is simple: to make moderation, cutting back, or going alcohol-free feel like a positive choice, not a downgrade.
Each DryDrop box features a rotating selection across styles and approaches, so there’s always something new to discover — without the guesswork.
